Amid the progress, regress, euphoria and trauma of the 20th Century, in regard both to individual salvation and to world peace, the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, Portugal in 1917, is undoubtedly the most important event.
The Virgin’s message was delivered at the cross roads of human history; at the point where the oppression of Russian and Chinese atheism could have been averted; at the point when World War II with its aftermath and tragedies could have been prevented.
God sent His Blessed Mother with a message that could have saved us not only from the calamities of the 20th Century but also from the events which are about to overtake us in the 21st Century. At this year’s FLI Conference, which coincides with the Centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, four renowned international speakers will present a fresh look at the message of Fatima and offer perspectives of what it could mean for us at a time when our world is in crisis.

Fatima, with its warnings and promises, is an unprecedented event that should be known by every Catholic. God sent the Queen of prophets to reaffirm the Gospel imperatives, in confirmation of which a three month notice of a public miracle was given; that miracle was witnessed by over 70,000 people. Fr Clovis connects Fatima with our times.
Pope St John Paul II said: “Fatima is more relevant now than in 1917”. It provides the answers to the challenges of 21st century. What are its key promises and warnings? Why is the true faith vital for our survival & salvation? Fatima underlines crucial parts of the Catholic Faith - and gives us inspiration and motivation.
The Church from Benedict XIV (1740) has defended marriage and the family. Yet, through a long chain of events from contraception, abortion, and divorce, we shall see how the so-called “gender issue” from a metaphysical perspective, now threatens the family and man himself.
To effectively resist – and ultimately overcome – the anti-marriage and anti-natalist ideologies, we must understand the true nature of the family. Drawing on the Catholic philosophical tradition, this talk addresses the grave attacks on the family that we now witness.
